CYLINDER HEAD FOR HIGH-PRESSURE DIESEL PUMP
In modern high-pressure diesel pumps, the actual pressure generation takes place in the cylinder head of the pump. An internal piston compresses the fuel to up to 2,700 bar. Depending on the geometry, Hirschvogel produces cylinder heads using hot or warm forging. Almost rotationally symmetric geometries can thus be produced in a resource-saving manner by means of warm forging, whereas complex shapes are produced in lightweight design by hot forging.
