AXIMO Enters the Bicycle Market Alongside Strong Partners
AXIMO is the Hirschvogel Group’s product and system supplier for new micromobility. The fledgling brand has sought out strong partners for the launch of its first series products in the bicycle market.
FIT and AXIMO to Cooperate on Drive System for E-bikes
Right on time for the Eurobike in Frankfurt, FIT, the Swiss brand from Biketec GmbH, and AXIMO are announcing their planned cooperation.
The heart of the AXIMO e-bike drive system, which will be presented at the trade fair as the ultimate drive solution for e-cargo bikes, speed pedelecs, and trekking bikes, is the DD60 direct drive motor. The reliable, maintenance-free wheel hub motor has integrated sensor technology and a timeless design. It has a torque of 60 Nm at a weight of less than 5 kg and is available in both a pedelec and speed pedelec version (Fig. 1).
The system is to be completed with perfectly coordinated hardware and software from FIT. Thanks to this partnership, the AXIMO drive system will be available with a large selection of cockpit solutions, smartphone connection, battery versions ranging from 550 to 1,000 Wh, and several charger options. “The cooperation with FIT is full of advantages for us, including a network of service partners throughout Europe,” says Michael Schleich, Vice President Corporate Development at the Hirschvogel Group and responsible for AXIMO.
Together, FIT and AXIMO offer a powerful, versatile drive system for e-bikes that opens up new possibilities for bicycle manufacturers.
Cargo Bikes from CUBE Feature Innovative Drive Axle from AXIMO
For AXIMO, this is not the first cooperation with a renowned brand in the bicycle industry. The newcomer is also supplying the drive axle for the “Trike Hybrid” cargo bike from German manufacturer, CUBE, which was just recently launched on the market in May 2023. The axle system for this three-wheeled cargo bike has an innovative design and enables natural, safe handling – even with heavy loads, at higher speeds, and in tight curves.
“We are very proud to be manufacturing our first series product system for the CUBE brand from the outset and thereby contributing to the excellent driving characteristics of the Trike Hybrid,” says Ingo Valtingoier, Head of Development in the AXIMO team.
AXIMO Offers Ready-for-assembly Differential Gears for Multi-track Cargo Bikes
As part of the development work for the drive axle, AXIMO has, among other things, engineered a differential gear for multi-track cargo bikes. This ensures rotational speed compensation between the wheels when cornering and thus precise control of the bikes. The Diff 350 is now going into series production. It is designed for a continuous torque of 100 Nm and a peak torque of 350 Nm and has mounting adapters for a chain or belt drive as well as the brake disk. The vehicle interfaces can be adjusted according to the manufacturer’s requirements. The differential gear is supplied ready for assembly, is maintenance-free in operation, and has a service life of 35,000 km (Fig. 2).
At the Eurobike fair, the AXIMO brand will showcase a selection of its robust, cost-optimized product solutions for small and light vehicles to the trade audience – solutions which support the mobility shift towards smaller and altogether more sustainable vehicles.
